Hello, my name is Stephen Hackler. I am the District Director for Royal Rangers in the So. Idaho District. I am happily married to my wife of 23 years, Kim Hackler. I have been in the food service business for 37 years. I managed restaraunts in Albequerque NM, and Lubbock, TX under the Carrows restaraunt chain. I am currently living in Pinehurst, Idaho with my family of 5, where we own and operate a medium sized family business, which includes a cafe, groceries, and fuel. We live on the banks of the Little Salmon River, in central Idaho. I thoroughly hope you enjoy this blog as I will be posting as often as I can, while at the same time keeping up with my other commitments. Thanks- Stephen
I am so thankful that you have this blog. You have a very good way with words, and you have made an impact in my faith with what you’ve shared.
We were married after 8 months together, having met on a radio sponsored dateline over the phone. I have been a stay at home mom since we moved here to Idaho. I also ran a daycare in my home. Our marriage has been tested, our faith has been tested, and each have become stronger. I now am moving into the next season of my life. My children are growing up, and I’m beginning an evening job in a deli not far from here. I know that all the challenges I’ve been through were in God’s plan, and He is in control.
I wanted to share how cool I thought it was that we have food service in common. I always wanted to own a restaurant. I started cooking for my family when I was 13. My Mom jokes now that we all would have starved if I hadn’t been feeding our family, while they were building our house.:) I went to a vocational skills center during my junior and senior years of Highschool for Restaurant Management. I worked in the cafe in Hewlett Packard for 18 months before going to a community college Culinary Arts program.
Shortly after receiving my certificate, I had a baby, without a husband. I lived with my parents till she was 18 months old. I worked part-time in a bistro, and then a bakery. But I missed my little girl so much.
I ended up going back to the community college to take early childhood education classes to get into the daycare biz. I now could be with my little girl. Then I met Mike.
I wanted to share these things with you because I have seen a glimpse into your life with your blog, and thought you’d like to know me better too.
Mike is the senior commander this year for our little New Plymouth AOG. I know he has alot to offer, and also alot to learn. I think reading your blog and seeing your site with your heart poured out into it, will give him strength and clarity in what he is taking on.
May this message find you well, and I do hope your health improves and stabelizes. God Bless you and keep you, Bonnie Rice
